Second day, first match: at least two famous team names faced each other, both having a great Swiss NLA/Premier League team. I have to admit I completely had no idea what an Elitejunioren match would be like and which team would be the one to be in the favourite position.
The match was very good and stunning, starting with the guests scoring twice but the hosts managing to come back again to score the 1:2 and 2:3 goals. In the last three minutes of first period, Rychenberg, the Winterthur team, completely stuggled in their defense and got three more - the one goal they scored seemed to be unimportant at that time.
Because of the last minutes of first period, the HCR subsituted their goalie at the beginning of second period. The match was very balanced, both teams put their opponents under pressure several times. Rychenberg was honored for their effort by scoring twice in second period and tieing the score in the 44th minute. They increased pressure, but could not manage to score another one while Wiler-Ersingen always was very dangerous by playing fast breaks. Eight seconds left, Wiler-Ersingen was in powerplay, put the ball in the net - but the forward was in the goalkeeper's zone - no goal. The overtime period ended without chances who were really worth to point out.
