Playoff finals-time! Weißenfels was slightly the favourite in game one at Leipzig suburb Markranstädt.
The Leipzig Lions played quite well in the first period, but wasted too many chances. Weißenfels got a penalty shot in power play which was easily taken. Leipzig came back and closed up to 2:3 in second half. But Weißenfels was too strong that day and increased their lead steadily. In the final period, the match got quite hectic and quite unattractive.
Weißenfels definitely deserved to win game one, as Leipzig committed too many mistakes. Nevertheless, they still have the chance to tie the standings when they manage to play more constantly.
