One week before the start of the German Bundesliga season, the German ladies and Under 19 girls team gathered in Lilienthal near Bremen to face the Dutch and Spanish national teams.
In the first match of the day, the German girls faced Spain. After a reasonable start of the hosts, Spain took more and more control of the match and tied the score at the end of first period, after Germany took the lead in the 12th minute. In the second period, Spain increased pressure and thus deserved to lead 3:2 after two periods. The German girls were not able to play forechecking in the third period, so that Spain was able to increase the score to 4:2 in the third period, which was as well the final score of the match.
