2008 "Österreich am Ball-Trophy" - the Unihockey-Pics.de Allstar-Team

A stunning tournament in Klagenfurt has finished - though there were just "second class" teams out there in Austria, some players showed a really great perfomance. As there was no All Star voting (no press but unihockey-pics.de), I decided to present my favourites of the women tourney.

Goalkeeper: Szilvia Sari (Hungary)

The Hungarian captian is the quite likely most famous player in the Klagenfurt tournament and belongs to the best goalies in the world. Even if Szilvia did not show her best in some moments, she is the absolute leader of her team - even if she is partly not playing like in the Poland match. Some of the selected players might have played better, but to me she is the most valueable player of the tournament. Thus, she was just a bit better to me than Germany's Daniela Thomas, who played a great tournament as well.

Defender: Julia Jurkowska (Poland)

The Polish captain is a great defender on the one hand, but also also a great leader and playmaker on the other hand taking profit of her World Cup experience from the Frederikshavn World Cup. Thus, there was no doubt to nominate the Polish defender.

Defender: Judith Burmeister (Germany U19)

Germany's Under 19 girls defense showed an overall great performance. Nevertheless, Judith Burmeister from Nothern Germany Wyker TB was the best defender to me. Though there have been some minor weaknesses in offense, she played and positioned very well in the D.

Center: Lisa Entelmann (Germany U19)

There was no doubt to nominate the German captain, who played center as well as defender in this tournament. With three great match performances, Lisa was the best player of the tourney to me, leading her team in all matches.

Forward: Karolina Dutkiewicz (Poland)

Several Polish forwards played a good tournament - but to me, Karolina Dutkievicz was the best always being able to score a goal. Thus, she just managed to get into the match instead of her teammate Agata Kolesinska.

Forward: Brigitta Radacsi (Hungary)

Though Vivian Kovacs and Györgyi Fekete were unable to complete the Hungarian defense, Brigitta played very flexibly and scored several times for her team as well playing smooth in the defense. Thus, I nominated her slightly leading before her teammate Anita Antal and the quick German Celine Lücken.
