Austria played much better than in the Poland match and took profit of Germany's strategy, who acted too defensively and hardly showed any good offensive plays in first period. In second period, Germany started well and scored two early goals before Austria became a bit better again without scoring any goals. Silke Unger's team decided the match by two early goals in the final period. Austria was honored for a good fight by two late goals.
