In the first match of my Sweden Tour 2007, which lead me to five matches in three days, Falun faces Caperio/Täby in the Svenska Superligan, the former men's Elitserien.
Falun took control of the match in the first period, but except one hit of the post after four minutes, they were not able to convert this to more scoring opportunities or goals.
The hosts also had the first powerplay of the day, but while Johan Allgulander sat on the bench, the good Täby boxplay even generated a fast break chance. Johan Edlund needed to be held
in order to avoid him scoring a short-hander, which was disciplined by a penalty shot by the referees. Under 19 national player
Linus Jämtdal failed to beat Erik Stall, so that the score was nil-nil after twenty mins.
In the second period, an early acute angle shot by Fredrik Olsson made the hosts score the first goal, but though Falun took more control of the game,
they first gave the match away in the second period: in the 28th minute, Patrik Hagberg tied the score. After Matthias Helgesson had a great opportunity to score a short-ahnder in the 33rd minute,
the following fast-break originated by the guest's goalie Daniel Ramsin and finished by Rickie Hyvärinen seemed to turn the game. Though Kristofer Asp was able to tie the score again for Falun before the
break, Falun wasted the chance to lead after fourty minutes.
In the third period, Falun took profit of two early goals my Matthias Helgesson and a beautiful fast break goal by Jonas Adriansson, who received a beautiful pass by Johannes Skog, in the 43rd and 44th minute. When
Patrick Malmström increased the lead to 5:2 after an free hit in the 49th minute, the match was decided. Johannes Skog scored twice, so that the final goal of the day scored by Caperio/Täby's
Joanathan Allgulander in the 59th minute did not carry weight at all. In the last minute, Falun's Alexander Egebrant was lucky just to be penalized with a five minute major after a scuffle.
Falun scored a deserved victory in this Friday evening match in the Svenska Superligan.
